Bereavement ministers are present to walk with parish families who have lost loved ones as they journey through the first year (or longer) after their loss. Bereavement Ministers attend the funeral of the parishioner, and then during the following year support the family by visiting with them, phoning and sending cards. This ministry also coordinates an All Souls Day Mass, funeral pre-planning workshops, and card ministry. Bereavement Ministers assist Elizabeth Ministers and the Diocesan Ministry of Consolation with an annual Naming Ceremony for families who have experienced miscarriage, abortion or premature infant death.

Working with Bereavement Ministry when a parishioner dies, this ministry provides a dish or other food item for a luncheon offered to the family following the funeral. They will also provide people to stay at the home of the family during the visitation or funeral if needed. From time to time members are called upon to assist parish families in crisis by providing meals.

We do not have an active group at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, so parishioners are referred to the Journey of Hope support group at the Cathedral of Christ the King. Journey of Hope is a 15-week program that addresses concerns of divorced or separated Catholics, offers support and discusses important issues that arise from a divorce. Strong emphasis is placed on prayer, scripture and Catholic Church teachings that lead to healing and a better relationship with Christ

We serve women and families affected by a difficult situation related to childbearing, a loss related to miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, or childhood death, through individualized support and prayer. We offer a support group for women struggling with infertility, serve families seeking support in the process of adoption, during pregnancy and birth situations, and we sponsor an annual Naming Ceremony to commemorate and name children lost through abortion, miscarriage, and stillbirth.
