St. Elizabeth Ann Seton has a vibrant and diverse music ministry that brings the best of liturgical music to our celebration of the Mass, guiding the faithful and enhancing the experience of the liturgy. Music is carefully selected to foster participation as well as amplify and elaborate upon the themes of the Mass propers and the readings of the day. Music at Seton is committed to the highest standard possible, motivated by the belief that through our music we return to God the gifts entrusted to us.
All members of the congregation are strongly encouraged to “make a joyful noise” and share their musical gifts by participating in various choirs and musical groups! Contact Amy Brown with any questions. To sign up for the music ministry, click here.
The Seton Choir sings at Masses each weekend as well as for various Holy Days and other special events throughout the year. Reading music is not required but the ability to match pitch and a simple “getting to know you” meeting is recommended. New members can join any time.

The Seton Hand Bell choir is a wonderful and welcoming ensemble – no prior Hand Bell experience is required to join, but ringers must be able to read music (treble and/or bass clef) and regular attendance at rehearsals is expected. Rehearsals are in the back room of the church on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm during the school year. This group appears at weekend Masses around once a month and plays for Christmas and Easter.
Seton’s Children’s Chorus is for our youngest musicians, open to all children grades K – 5. Click here to visit the Children’s Chorus page.
For those interested in learning more about the rich tradition of Catholic music, as well as modern music inspired by it, the Seton Schola is a small, ad hoc ensemble of vocalists who will learn and perform everything from chants and Renaissance motets to Taize and modern meditative music. They perform on a sporadic basis, both at Mass and for special liturgical events. Ability to read music and be comfortable one-on-a-part is required.

Our Cantors lead the music of Mass and appear in some capacity at every Mass. Some Masses are cantor-only, or sometimes a cantor will sing as a leader of song and a member of an ensemble. Training is provided for Cantors through a workshop each semester.

Anyone who plays an instrument is welcome to participate in the music ministry. If you cannot commit to an ensemble above, you are still welcome to play on a intermittent basis coordinated with the Music Director. Calls for specific instruments sometimes appear in the bulletin. We seek to encourage as many of our parishioners as possible to share their gifts!
